The three deadliest words in the world : “It’s a girl!”
When I read the above article this morning, Ann Marie Dwyer’s post on “Going Global” the other day. She discusses the continued senseless deaths from poverty all over the world and encourages us to do our part.
Zionica states that, “India and China are said to eliminate more female infants than the number of girls born in the US each year.” and quote one woman who confesses to getting rid of 8 baby girls!
I understand the culture values males, and even understand somewhat the reasoning behind it, but I do not understand senseless slaughter of girls, from pre-born to adult, as if they are a n0n-valuable, throw-a-way, unwanted trash.
It is sad that people are dying every day from poverty and its resultant diseases. It’s even more sad that people deliberately take the lives of children because they are not seen as valuable.
In the US and elsewhere, the selection process for deciding which children to have and which to abort is different. You may make the cut if you’re a girl, but what if you have a disability or you are inconvenient?
How sad; how sad; how sad.

Good post Angie,
While it is disturbing that so many people die daily from malnutrition, lack of safe drinking water, civil unrest and governmental policies, it is appalling that in a country as wealthy as the US you actually have the CHOICE to have or abort. And when abortion is mentioned, God help the Christians. Just because it is our point-of-view that life is sacred, even as an embryo, we are trying to invade someone’s “personal space”. What would these individuals complain about if they lived in China? It’s kind of clear, isn’t it? As with children, people always want what others (not just Christians) think is bad for them. Marijuana, alcohol, tobacco, inter-racial relationships, homosexual relationships, being shacked-up, whatever. We’re all guilty of something. No one is perfect! Thank God I’m forgiven! I have been among the worst of these simply because “my God” has given me “FREE WILL”. Free will to make these mistakes and free will to see my short comings and ask forgiveness. In this right, they have the free will to kill an unborn child if they wish. Personally, I don’t see how they sleep at night. My sister-in-law had an abortion about 35 years ago. She still has nightmares and regrets about the life that she cut short. But, on that note, I believe I’ll shut-up because I’m a man and I DON’T know what I’m talking about, according to the critics. God Bless You Angie, Grant

Thank you so much Grant. One reason people think they can do it and sleep at night (so they say) is because they either don’t realize what’s inside them or they don’t realize that there are consequences. So many people have deep regrets over their abortions. No one tells that side of the story. It is their choice, as is all the other things, but it doesn’t come without consequences – to the person and society. On this side of the water, you’d think people would be up-at-arms because these babies are being thrown away because they are girls. Where is the ‘feminist movement’? Why do we tolerate it? ::sigh::
Thank you so much for your comment. I love your ability to express yourself in a meaningful way. Angie
