Sins of the tongue probably rate as the worst kinds of sins as far as harm to others goes. Yet, we sit in our churches with blazing tongues, spreading hurt to all with no qualms. While I believe homosexuality is a sin because the Bible says it is, I sometimes question the obsession with it that I see among Christians. It’s like we’ve separated the sins into acceptable and unacceptable categories. We have our pet sins; those go into the acceptable category. Then we have the ones that don’t bother us as much; those go into the unacceptable category.
Let me tell you no sin is acceptable to God!
We are all sinners. There is none righteous, no not one. We cannot gloss over some sins and sit in our pews as holier-than-thou whited sepulchres, spewing ungodliness in our judgmentalness. We ought to do one and not leave the other undone. We should worry about sin – all sin – our own sin first.
The Bible tells us to take the beam out of our own eye first. Then we will be able to see clearly to help others remove the speck in their eyes. As long as we have these sins that we cling to and justify and ignore as ‘not so bad’, we will be unable to help others with their sin. This is the problem when it comes to speaking out against sin. We do not have the right to do so until we have cleaned up our own back yard. I am not saying we shouldn’t speak out. I’m saying we should clean up that beam and then speak out, when we have the right and the ability to help others in the same mess we found ourselves in.
We have the answer: Jesus Christ. But we besmirch His name when we excuse sin in our own lives while condemning others for theirs. I have been asking God for over a year to show me the truth about these matters. He is slowly but surely moving me into His will as He teaches me how to walk with Him and how to know Him as He truly is. This is a difficult concept for most Christians, but it is difficult in its very simplicity. The same is true of salvation. It is simple, and yet we make it hard.

Hi Angie, there is a lot of confusion in regards to the teaching of judging others but we can be sure God is not contradicting Himself when He tells us to rebuke, warn, and correct those who sin or who are in error and it is not Love to just let them continue to do so, but it is to be with Love and for Love even if firm and by God’s Truth not fleshy man’s agenda.
But you are right Angie we are not to critically judge others weaknesses, faults and shortcomings, we have our own, well at least I do, anyway it’s like looking in a mirror we see in them what in ourselves, also it means our own plank is blinding us to our own faults as you said. We are also not to Judge others eternal Destiny, they may come to heart repentance on their death bed and escape the flames even if their works are burnt up, only God knows their heart.
Yes very True as you shared Angie, we have all fallen short of the glory of God that is why we have to put our flesh to death and be Born again so we no longer sin, ( see below) but if we say we have never sinned and so don’t need Salvation we are calling God a liar.

Colossians 3:4-6 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.

Yes, the Bible tells us to start with our own sin so that we can see clearly to help others with theirs. Christians continue to have sin in their lives, but they no longer sin with impunity and should be working on getting sin our of their lives. Also, since our Rightousness is really Jesus’ righteousness, we do not sin in God’s eyes. I probably didn’t say that well, but hopefully you know what I mean. Thanks for stopping by. Angie

Yes Angie we are to recognise that we are in darkness if we continue to sin as the Scripture I shared with you confirms and also those below and yes as you said we are to do something about it.
If we are Born again we do not sin, cant sin, we have been set free…
1 John 3:9 No one who is Born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been Born of God.
1 John 5:18-20 We know that no one who is Born of God sins; but He who was Born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.
God tells us we are to be Righteous in our actions which shows we have Jesus’ Righteousness…
1John 3: 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous.
In other words Angie if we continue to sin and this is referring to what God calls sin not our weaknesses and shortcomings which is our own beam or man’s legalism, we are to come to heart repentance, turn from evil and do good by putting our flesh to death and being Born again of God’s seed perfecting us in Love and then we will have the mind of Christ…
1Corinthians 2 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God for they are foolishness unto him neither can he know them, because they are Spiritually discerned. But he that is Spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the Mind of the Lord, that he may instruct Him? but we have the Mind of Christ.
The only way you can reject this Truth Angie is to also reject the Scriptures that confirm it. We are to go to Jesus Christ our only Teacher through the empowering of The Holy Spirit and He will lead us into all Truth having asked for and received God’s wisdom… He tells us we don’t have because we don’t ask with all our heart.

Angie we have been sharing for a long time and for this I’m very thankful but what I have noticed is, you like some other people don’t read the Scripture, you just continue to say what you have been taught which has no confirmation in them, what they tell us is if you continue to sin you are not Born again of God’s seed and your flesh has not been put to death and your not perfected in Love or do you have the mind of Christ, this is not saying you won’t, God knows if we will even before we are conceived but if it is not true for you at this time then you are the same as Paul was in Romans 7 but read his solution to this battle in Romans 6 & 8 and please read the Scripture below too and if you want me to explain more to you about the wonderful Truth of our Freedom in Christ Jesus, then please let me know but not if you are going to reject the Scriptures and God’s Authority in them, which is shown that we do by accepting and keeping His guidelines.
Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the Law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the Law.
Romans 6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid how shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Angie time is short, there is so much deception in the Churches today mostly spread by Cults, but also propergated by mans fleshy understanding, logic and reasoning, the True Gospel has been covered over, there is not one Scripture that condones sinning in anyway when it is read in context if you claim you are Born again of God’s seed, sadly many are living without the freedom that Jesus has given them and it is why it was prophesied that the Church would be in darkness now and that there would be a falling away from God’s Truth and that False Teaching and Deception and lies would cause many to loose Hope in a Loving God, this is happening because we are in the end times.
