Have I ever mentioned one of the reasons I do not like dogs? They are soooooo cute! But they are also really disgusting! My sister’s dog (a big dog in a little dog’s body) is a case in point. She goes outside and rubs/rolls/revels in whatever she can find that smells to high heaven. Bath? Only works till she gets done and out the door. She also likes to lick people in the face, and lick herself in unmentionable places. Many people think nothing of that, but I am not one of them. I just can’t deal.
The same should be true of Christians when it comes to sin. Do you go out and ‘rub/roll/revel’ in the dirt of sin? Do you call others to do it with you? Is the stench of sin clinging to you?
This article by Dr. Stephen Davey says it better than I ever could. I hope you’ll drop over and read it. Besides a laugh or two, it’s a great point.
What have you been kissing???

Thanks 🙂 I’m not really a cat fan either, they’re always covered with cat spit lol. I’m allergic to both, which could explain it, however, I’ll take a cat over a dog. I trained my cat (now deceased) to not lick himself (in front of me). I told him if I ever lick myself in front of him, he has my permission to lick in front of me. Not gonna happen. Anyway, I will check out your link and consider it as soon as I have a free moment. Thank you so much for the offer 🙂 Angie

I think dogs are like angels. Did you know their saliva is an antiseptic. If you were wounded, letting a dog clean out your wound would be very wise indeed. They are gifts from God. I love all animals as HE does. They have spirits and I have no doubt that we’ll be seeing them when we cross through the veil.
On the other point, I agree. Rolling around in the mud of humanity, and inviting everything unseemly into our lives is unwise and cannot be pleasing to our Father in Heaven. I can only imagine how disappointed in us he is when he sees us give in. Still, we are his children and He loves us — he hates the sin. Always comforting. : ) Also knowing that we are commanded to love one another. No question. Very simple and very easy to do.

I’ve heard that, but…. I suspect my issues are deeper than that because I used to love dogs, but…. lol. I want to be a dog person, really, my life would be so much easier!!!! but…. Then there’s the issue of dog owners who don’t train the dog. I find that a low “NO” in a non-threatening voice works wonders, and if owners don’t intervene, the dog will leave me alone. Ok, I’m rambling. Thanks for coming by. I’m glad you love dogs. I’ve loved a few in my day too, and I see the value in them, but they’re still gross 🙂
